The birth of Mishmi Hills Foundation came as an outcome of the meeting held on 19th April 2016 at Hawai, the head-qtr of Anjaw district. The meeting which was attended by educated youths of Hawai opined that Mishmi society is confronted with myriad problems like Educational backwardness, Social problems, Cultural and moral degradation, environmental destruction etc. With an objective of working on these problems through people’s participation, the members came to the conclusion to form an NGO by name MISHMI HILLS FOUNDATION. The foundation shall be non political.
The basic objective of the Organization shall be:
1) Educational Upliftment of Mishmi Society.
2) Economic Empowerment of Mishmi Society.
3) To work on Social issues concerning Mishmi society.
4) Cultural preservation of Mishmi tribe.
The society has been recognized by Registrar of societies Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh vide order No.SR/ITA/5595 Dated 12/07/2017.
