1. NAME OF SOCIETY : MISHMI HILLS FOUNDATION
2. OFFICE ADDRESS : HAWAI, DIST:ANJAW,ARUNACHAL PRADESH, INDIA, 792104.
3. OBJECTIVES :
1) Educational Upliftment of Mishmi Society.
2) Economic Empowerment of Mishmi Society.
3) To work on Social issues concerning Mishmi society.
4) Cultural preservation of Mishmi tribe.
5) Environmental conservation in the Mishmi hills.
4. MEMBERSHIP:
Any person of Indian Origin can be a member of the foundation.
5. ELIGIBHTTY OF MEMBERSHIP:
a. Any person residing in India is eligible to become member. He/She may apply to the Secretary of the Society with his/her application supported by two members. The Governing Body (Executive Committee) of the society shall decide on the admittance of the applicant to the foundation The Governing Body (Executive Committee) has the prerogative to refuse any person for membership.
6. CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP:
a. Any member may withdraw from the foundation giving a written notice to the Secretary of his/ her intention to do so.
b. Majority of two-thirds of total number of members voting in person may by resolution passed at an Governing body meeting expel any member who in their opinion is guilty of conduct contrary to the interest of society and any such member shall cease to be member of society from the date of passing this resolution but may be proposed again for membership after the expiry of 12 calender months from that date.
7. RIGHTS AND PRIVILIGES
Registered members will have the right to attend all general body meetings and cast their votes as well as lodge their grievances if any.
8. GOVERNING BODY:
The Governing Body (Executive Committee) of the society will consist of :
1) Chairman
2) Vice Chairman
3) Secretary
4) Treasurer
5) Joint Secretary : Three Nos.
The term of the Governing Body (Executive Committee) shall be five years. The selection of executive body shall be done unanimously among the members.
9. FUNCTIONS OF GOVERNING BODY (EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE):
CHAIRMAN:
All meetings of the Governing Body or General Body shall be chaired by the Chairman. Sanction of money for various activities shall be done by the Chairman.
VICE CHAIRMAN:
To perform the functions of the Chairman in his /her absence.
SECRETARY:
Agenda dates. Venue etc. shall be drawn out by the secretary in consultation with the Chairman. All records pertaining to the memberships, Circular, Meeting etc. shall be maintained by the Secretary. Minutes of all meeting shall also be recorded by the secretary.
TREASURER:
Accounts of income and expenditure shall be maintained by the Treasurer.
JOINT SECRETARY:
To perform all the duties as desired by the president and the Secretary General.
PERIODCITY OF GOVERNING BODY (EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE) MEETINGS:
The Governing Body shall meet as often as it may think fit.
10. QUORUM FOR GOVERNING BODY MEETING:
One-third of the Governing Body present in person shall form a quorum for the transaction of business, but if any meeting has to be adjourned for want of quorum, Then at the adjourned meeting the members present whatever their number shall form a quorum and shall have power to decide upon all matters which could have been disposed of at the meeting from which the adjournment look place.
11. CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNING BODY MEETING:
The Chairman shall be the chairman of governing body meetings. If at any meeting, the Chairman is absent, the Vice-Chairman shall act as Chairman. In the absence of Vice Chairman, the members of the Committee personally present at the meeting shall select one of them as Chairman of the meeting.
12. ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING:
An annual general body meeting will be held once in every calendar year. An annual report of the activities of the Society will be presented by the Secretary at the General Body Meeting. The dates and venue for the next year’s meeting and any other matter pertaining to Society’s activities shall be discussed at the meeting. The Treasurer shall present the accounts at the General Body meeting.
13. QUORUM FOR GENERAL BODY MEETING:
No business shall be transacted at any general meeting unless a quorum of member is present at the when the meeting proceeds to business. The quorum at a general meeting shall be one-third present in person.
14. CHAIRMAN OF THE GENERAL MEETING:
a. The Chairman shall be the chairman of General body meetings. If at any General meeting the president is absent, the meeting shall be presided by the Vice Chairman. If Vice Chairman is also absent, the meeting shall select one of the Governing Body members as Chairman of the meeting.
b. The Chairman of the meeting may with consent of the meeting adjourn any meeting, but no business shall be transacted at any adjourned meeting other than the business left unfinished at the meeting from which the adjournment took place.
15. SOURCES OF INCOME:
a. Voluntary donation from well wishers.
b. Funding from Government and Non government bodies.
16. FINANCIAL YEAR:
The financial year of the foundation shall be from 1st April to 31st march of the calendar year.
17. BANK ACCOUNT:
All the accounts in the name of “THE MISHMI HILLS FOUNDATION” will be operated by the Chairman / Treasurers of the foundation. There shall be a bank Account operated at SBI Hawai. Anjaw (A.P).
18. LIABILITY:
The Society may sue or be sued in the name of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer as per provision laid down under rules of registrar of Societies. Arunachal Pradesh.
19. DISSOLUTION AND ADJUSTMENT OF AFFAIRS:
If the foundation needs to be dissolved, it shall be dissolved as per provisions laid down under the appropriate section applicable to state of Arunachal Pradesh.
20. APPLICATION OF THE ACT:
All the provision under all the sections of the societies Registration Act of 1860 application to the state of Arunachal Pradesh shall apply to the Foundation.
